We were proud to fabricate the centre piece lobby clock for the opulent reception at the Waldorf Astoria luxury hotel in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. Black Isle Bronze Ltd and Smith of Derby Ltd were engaged to create the centre piece by leading London design practice, Hirsch Bedner Associates, (HBA).

Seen by hotel guests who have travelled from around the world, the clock stands at over six metres high. Designed entirely for this setting, this captivating clock took our skilled clockmakers eight months to carefully build using bronze, stainless steel, etched glass and champagne gold leaf and weighs an impressive three tons.

Features of this unique clock include a pearlised domed glass dial, gold plated seven-day mechanical movement and 5 rotating prayer rings at its base which show the exact minute of each prayer for the day. The pendulum regulation that drives four sets of delicate gold-plated hands ensures accuracy of time.
